The Law Library possesses one of the world’s most complete collections of the printed session laws of American colonial and early state legislatures. This material is far and away the most important source of information about the legal history of early America. The collection itself is a national treasure. This acquisition would help to fill a gap in that collection. Printed session laws for the years 1790-1794 are simply not available elsewhere. The session laws for 1788-1789 are nearly as scarce. An excellent opportunity to fill a large gap in the Law Library’s Early American Statutes Collection – an opportunity not likely to come again.
