THE FRIENDS of the LAW LIBRARY OF CONGRESS

Events & Programs

The Friends are proud to support the Law Library in bringing world-class legal expertise, resources, media, and cutting-edge legal discourse to Washington.

Several annual Law Library of Congress events are traditionally supported by the Friends; many are free and open to the public:

The Wickersham Award and Blackstone Award, Friends signature programs, honor the acheivments of a distinguished individual who has made a significant contribution to the legal profession.

The Friends also support special or ongoing Law Library programs, such as international exhibitions, the National Book Festival, scholarships for legal and conservation experts, development efforts, and many others.

HRH The Princess Royal, Librarian of Congress James H. Billington, and Law Librarian of Congress David Mao cut a ribbon to open a 2014 Magna Carta exhibit at the Library of Congress. The commemorative exhibit was supported by the Friends and Friends
